Since its launch in December 2010, the Nissan LEAF has sold over 650,000 units worldwide.
The model, currently available in approximately 50 markets, with a focus on Japan, the USA, and Europe, continues to be highly regarded by customers around the world and has won numerous prestigious awards in multiple markets.
In 2022, Nissan started selling the all-electric crossover, Nissan Ariya.
The Ariya features Nissan’s latest technologies and design language, such as e-4ORCE and ProPILOT 2.0. Its sophisticated design earned it the Auto Color Award 2021 Grand Prix in Japan and the Red Dot Design Award in Germany.
The Ariya was also included in the Wards 10 Best Interiors & UX list.
Also, in 2022, Nissan launched the Sakura, its first electric vehicle in the Japanese minicar market. It has received accumulated orders of 50,000 units thanks to its excellent cabin soundproofing, powerful yet smooth acceleration, elegantly designed spacious interior, and ample cruising range for daily driving.
The Sakura has won three prestigious awards in Japan:
- Car of the Year Japan 2022-2023; the first minicar to win the award, in recognition of the vehicle’s contribution to promoting electrification in the market.
- 2023 RJC Car of the Year
- JAHFA 2023 Car of the Year
Under its long-term vision, Nissan Ambition 2030, Nissan plans to launch 19 electrified models by fiscal year 2030.
The company also aims to introduce internally developed solid-state battery-powered EVs by fiscal year 2028 and expand its EV portfolio to meet the diverse needs of customers worldwide.
